Let’s spend at a Saturday at the Met. It is a great place to spend a cold winter’s day. And right now they have several interesting exhibits. One of the best times to visit is in the evening after most of the tourists have left.
At 6pm you will find me in the lobby by the information booth (right inside the front doors)
We are going to start at the Rodin exhibit. This exhibit would include some of Rodin’s major works ( the thinker, hand of god, and the tempest) In addition to work by Rodin there will also be paintings of two of his friends (Claude Monet and Pierre Puvis de Chavannes)
Afterwards we will check out the much hyped Michelangelo exhibit. The exhibit will include 150 of his drawings, three of his sculptures, and his earliest painting.
If there’s any time left afterwards we will meander the museum. And of course, if there’s something else you’d prefer to check out on your own, you are more than welcome to.
At 8:30 pm for those who are interested in grabbing food/drinks/coffee we will reconvene in the lobby. We may divide into smaller groups depending on what people are interested in and how big the group is.
